The unique and customizable Arts and Contemporary Studies degree program in the humanities and social sciences provides students with the opportunity to specialize in fields including Anthropology, Culture Studies, Diversity and Equity Studies, Global Studies, English, French, History or Philosophy. You’ll learn critical analysis and research skills, and can participate in research, team-based and community projects, an international exchange, or a guaranteed fellowship.

Academic requirements
This is a Grades-Only program. Admission decisions for Grades-Only programs are based on academic performance.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.
Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:
- A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)

Independent research course offers collaboration and unique research
Arts and Contemporary Studies students can take ACS 950 — Directed Research course. This course offers advanced study and one-on-one research collaboration with a professor. Recent projects include a conceptual maker space for textiles and recycled clothing, and a project on de-stigmatizing menstruation.
