Join the Media Production degree program and master storytelling and audience experience for various media platforms. Learn to produce content for video, television, live events, video games, podcasts, radio, AR, VR, transmedia and virtual productions. You’ll study production techniques, audience engagement and media business, and understand today’s exciting media landscape and shape its future.  

Apply your skills with experiential opportunities like hosting a SpiritLive Radio or Met-TV show, broadcast from our state-of-the-art studios. Connect with professionals through industry internships and networking events, and gain a global perspective of the entertainment industry through our summer course in Los Angeles. Our alumni include actor Hannah Simone (New Girl), writer/producer Vera Santamaria (Bojack Horseman / Schitt's Creek) and showrunner Michael Grassi (Riverdale).

Student spotlight

Media Production student lands lead role on TVOKids Show

Second-year Media Production student Lisa Pryce has made significant strides since joining the program and has already taken on multiple roles in various TVOKids shows. Most recently, Pryce landed a on-camera role in a TVOKids show called Green Squad. The experience also gave her the opportunity to work behind the scenes in production, allowing her to grow her skillset and expertise.

Academic requirements

This is a Grades-Only program. Admission decisions for Grades-Only programs are based on academic performance.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.

Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:

  • A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English (ENG4U/EAE4U required).
