Consultations and Online Survey

Creating an equitable, inclusive and respectful environment is a goal and collective responsibility at TMU shared by all students, faculty, contract lecturers, staff and community members. As part of the Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Policy Review, we invite TMU community members to participate in consultations this fall. All voices, concerns, and feedback are valued and welcomed.

Three ways to provide feedback

1. Complete the online survey by November 1, 2024

All community members are invited to complete the online survey.

2. Join virtual town hall consultations

During consultations, facilitators of the policy review will gather feedback from TMU community members to ensure TMU’s Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Policy effectively addresses and prevents discrimination and harassment on campus. The review is not a venue to discuss individual cases; instead, it provides an opportunity to suggest how the policy can be improved.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the policy, voice their concerns, share experiences and suggest improvements. Your participation is crucial in shaping a more inclusive TMU.

3. Drop into our survey station for a tasty treat

All students are invited to participate at our in-person drop-in survey station in the Student Learning Centre (SLC) lobby.

Complete a 3 to 5-minute survey and receive a prize for your participation.

Date: Tuesday, October 29, 2024
Time: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Additional feedback sessions to be held with university stakeholders and community groups

The Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Policy (DHPP) review team is committed to a transparent and inclusive consultation process, and will also be meeting with:

  • student unions, clubs and societies
  • faculty, contract lecturer and staff unions
  • MAC employees
  • administrative offices that interact with the policy or service students, faculty and staff impacted by the policy
  • equity-focused staff in faculties and departments
  • additional TMU community members
